Since its founding in 1945, the Strindberg Society has been the initiator for the Strindberg Museum, the resurrection of Strindberg’s Intima Theatre, the publication of Strindberg’s letters, and the national edition of Strindberg’s collected works.
 
 
The Strindberg Museum consists of Strindberg’s last apartment with its special ambience and even the sounds that he heard when he was living there. The museum also contains an extensive exhibition of his life, ideas and works, including recorded scenes from productions of his plays.
